During his visit to Washington, Gegham Gevorgyan, the Chairman of the Competition Protection Commission (CPC), met Stefan Gardner, head of the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Thomas Mark, responsible for Europe and Eurasia, and program advisor Eric Wenz.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation. They highlighted the successful collaboration in various areas within the CLDP program and addressed the report analyzing the legislative and enforcement challenges of Armenia’s digital platforms (GAP analysis), as well as the subsequent steps to be taken in this direction.
The program representatives expressed their appreciation for the professionalism and high level of engagement demonstrated by the CPC specialists.
Gegham Gevorgyan expressed satisfaction with the program’s outcomes, emphasizing the importance of international experience in effectively managing competition challenges in digital markets.
The parties also outlined and exchanged ideas on potential areas for further cooperation, including the implementation of recommendations related to digital platforms, consumer protection, and more.
